Mioko Mochizuki is a multi faceted artist & designer with fine arts background and a career in apparel design and costume design. Mioko was born in Yokohama and grew up in the US, Holland, and Hong Kong. From early childhood Mioko was passionate about art and her interest in figure drawing and movement studies led her to costume. She studied fashion design at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and moved to New York City in 2002. Alongside working in the fashion industry as a designer, Mioko designed and constructed costumes for Company SoGoNo, a NY based Butoh company, for 8 years. Mioko moved back to Japan in 2012 with her American husband and is now a mother of two daughters. She art directed and operated DAWSON LINTON & CO, an online antique store from 2013-2016. Together with two other artist mothers living in Yokohama, she founded LITTLE ARTIST LEAGUE, an  art workshop group for children. She founded DRESS UP BOX, a children's costume brand in 2016 and debuted her first collection in 2017 .
