Mioko Mochizuki is a multi faceted artist & designer with fine arts background and a career in apparel design and costume design. Mioko was born in Yokohama and grew up in the US, Holland, and Hong Kong. From early childhood Mioko was passionate about art and her interest in figure drawing and movement studies led her to costume. She studied fashion design at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and moved to New York City in 2002. Alongside working in the fashion industry as a designer, Mioko designed and constructed costumes for Company SoGoNo, a NY based Butoh company for 8 years. Mioko moved back to Japan in 2012 with her American husband and is now a mother of two daughters. In 2016 she founded the art organization LITTLE ARTISTS LEAGUE as well as the children's costume brand DRESS UP BOX.
横浜生まれ。幼少時代をアメリカ東海岸、中高時代をオランダと香港で過ごす。ボストンのマサチューセツ州立美術大学のファッションデザイン学科に学ぶ。2002年にニューヨークへ移転。テキスタイル、ウィメンズ、メンズ、キッズと幅広い分野でアパレルデザインの仕事に携わる傍、NYを拠点とするダンスカンパニー「SoGoNo」の専属デザイナーとして舞台衣装を８年間制作。2012年にアメリカ人の夫と帰国、以後２児の母となる。2016年、子どものためのコスチュームブランド DRESS UP BOX 創立。同年、アート団体 LITTLE ARTISTS LEAGUE を発足。2022年、アートを通してグローバルシティズンを育むことをミッションとするアート教育団体EduArt創立。子どもの創造性を育む活動を広げている。ポピンズアクティブラーニングスクール広尾のアトリエリスタも務める。
